To Cope With Menstrual Problem

Menstrual problem are common. It has been estimated that as many as 50% of all women have it at sometime in their lives. Along the common problems are painful menstruation, excessive bleeding, prementrual syndrome (PMS), and amenorrhea (cessation of periods). Menstruation problem can be dealt with in a variety of ways.

First for all, don't let anyone try to convince you that your discomfort doesn't exist. Menstrual problems were once though to be primarily psychological, and women were often given transquilizers or told to go home and relax. You are the best judge on how you feel.
  1. You may be able to cope with your problem to your self, if it is mild.
  2. See your doctor if you haven't any of the following signs:
  • An annually heavy menstrual flow, or a heavy flow that last more than four or five days.
  • Severe cramps or paint that lasts more than three days each month.
  • Sudden irregularity of periods that cannot be explained by sickness, travel, weight gain or loss.
  • Bleeding in the middle of your cycle or at any time of your cycle other then your period.
  • Sever cramp at time other than when your period is due
  • Lasting amenorrhea
Recently has been discovered that women with severe menstrual pain often have an excess of hormonelike substances known as prostaglandius in their bodies when they mentruate, and drugs are availabel to reduce prostaglandin levels.
