The research of experts at the University of Texas, Austin, United States, said men who seek relationship tend to ignore the beauty of the face. They are just purely looking at the body shape.
Although the body shape and facial appearance is known as an indicator of fertility, beauty body will make men directly assess the potential for partner.
A study published in the journal Evolution and Human Behavior looked at the reaction of 375 men and women who were asked to invite a date of opposite sex, but with the face or body that has been obscured. Male volunteers were asked to choose between the beautiful face or comely or curvy body.
The results showed that men prefer a comely woman for a date, while they choose a beautiful woman for long term relationship.
"Men are more often avoid bodied curvy women for long-term relationships. Men prioritize beautiful looking woman for a long term relationship and the importance of the body shape when choosing a relationship for a moment."
"Both the body and face shape can provide clues to the value of women's reproductive and fertility rates. But research shows, men looking for a good woman when looking for a partner for the short term," wrote the experts in that journal.
